Description

Under the brand name Plymouth, car manufacturer Chrysler brought out the Barracuda, which by American standards was sporty and compact, between 1964 and 1974. They combined this vehicle with an extremely powerful engine with a hemispherical combustion chamber in 1971. The result: the Plymouth Hemi ’Cuda.

With 108 copies produced, this man’s dream realised in metal, with its 7-litre engine, 8 cylinders and 424 hp, is counted among the muscle cars. They first came out in the 1950s, though were not called that back then, and are now popular collectible models. One of the most highly prized (among other things because it is very rare) is the 1971 Plymouth Hemi ’Cuda. A well-maintained specimen will fetch up to 4 million US dollars. Whoever is a little short on cash after this expense can register the piece as a “motor vehicle of historic cultural value” – insurance and tax are then significantly cheaper.
