Description

1950 was the end of individuality; the West German State Railway wanted electric locomotives with broadly standardised components. The outcome was the E 10 universal loco, which couldn’t actually be used so universally that other universal locomotives weren’t needed. But that’s another story.

While the E 10 (later 110) proved itself for many years over long distances, it was used in local transport in the 1990s. Another decade later, the faithful but by now outdated draught horses began to be decommissioned and scrapped. Few specimens could be saved. They were bought by the TRI Train Rental GmbH, which has made it its mission to preserve historical, high-quality rail vehicles.
