The Danish town of Ebeltoft harbours a truly unique attraction: the 71-metre frigate Jylland, which rests in dry dock. The beautiful ship was already technically outdated when it was commissioned in 1860. Timber construction had long been exchanged for steel hulls, and the muzzle-loading cannons used were no longer in vogue. Nevertheless, the Jylland was always fit for duty and took part in various naval battles.

The frigate was decommissioned in 1908, but, miraculously, it was saved from the scrapyard again and again. In 1960, it arrived as a wreck in Ebeltoft, where it was restored. With its towering masts – the main mast is 53 metres high – the erstwhile gem of the Danish Navy is now back in impeccable condition.

The ship is cared for by the association ‘Den Selvejede Institution’ and is definitely worth a visit. Until then, our small model allows you to dream of a great voyage at sea or serves as a souvenir of your visit to the museum.

We offer two different versions of the model: one on a small stand with a fully visible hull and propeller, and a second version which shows the ship at sea. Both models include an exclusive tile printed with the ship’s name by the SuperBrickBrothers.

Note: 5% of the selling price of this Brickworms kit goes directly to the association to maintain the ship.

The Fregatten Jylland website provides further details about the ship, its history and possibilities for visiting.
