It was in 1977 when LEGO released its first large Technic kit – ‘Auto Chassis’ no. 853. Back then, our designer, Ralf, called two of them his own (yes, he’s that old!), but he lost both of them in the ‘turmoil of life’.

They disappeared but they were never forgotten and were appropriately mourned. After all, the chassis is either no longer available today, or only at exorbitantly high prices. So, Ralf set about building a mini version of this LEGO milestone. And because it turned out so well, three more were added. We now have all four of the large Technic models from back then in our range as our very own Brickworms mini versions.
