Description
From 2005 to 2015, the super sports car made in France, the Bugatti Veyron EB 16.4, hit the roads. It immediately broke several speed records. The manufacturer is the Volkswagen Group, which had acquired the Bugatti trademark rights in 1998.
It’s not so easy to find a road on which the fast racer can be deployed. With its 8-litre engine, 16 cylinders and 1,001 hp, it can reach a top speed of 408 km/h.
It’s not entirely clear how many Veyrons were actually produced. The figures vary between 300 and 450. The purchase price for a new car amounted to 1.3 million euros. According to VW, it was not intended to turn a profit; it was a pure image project relating to “technical competence”.
The car’s undeniable beauty inspired numerous special editions with such sonorous names as ‘Pur Sang’ (pureblood) and ‘Soleil de Nuit’ (night sun).
