‘Olsen Gang’ Chevrolet Bel Air 1959 – kit from LEGO® bricks

Without a doubt, the Olsen Gang had style. The thieving trio dashed through almost every episode of the popular movie series with a Chevrolet Bel Air. Back then, of course, the American road cruiser built in 1959 was not yet a classic car.

The car was not half bad, even if the film vehicle made the deliberate impression of being slightly run-down. It was also practical. Due to its good all-round visibility, it was an excellent getaway vehicle: approaching law enforcement officials could be spotted through the generously sized windows.

The high fuel consumption alone could have caused a headache. No wonder: one and a half tonnes of car distributed over five metres in length wanted to be moved briskly. Who knows – maybe the Danish guys just had to crack safes to be able to afford the upkeep of the prestigious Chevy.

This model is supplied without the shown minifigure of the gang’s leader, Egon Olsen.
