Exclusively found on a handful of tiny islands in the south Atlantic Ocean and Indian Ocean, the northern rockhopper penguin (a.k.a. Moseley’s penguin) is one of the smallest “crested” penguins.

Research suggests that the northern rockhopper penguin is actually a separate species to the southern rockhopper penguin, differing from his cousin morphologically, vocally, and genetically.

These petite penguins are currently listed as an endangered species, mostly as a result of climate change and overfishing. They make excellent swimmers and strong jumpers. Their diet consists of krill and other crustaceans, squid, and small fish.

Number of original LEGO® bricks: 302

Measurements of the model: 14.1 x 13.3 x 16 cm
